Richard Cowell is a partner at Fabricant Rubino & Lambrianakos LLP. Prior to joining FRL, Richard was of counsel at Desmarais LLP, where he focused on patent litigation. He has litigated cases from complaint to judgment in numerous U.S. district courts and the International Trade Commission, as well as in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has also represented clients in appeals before both the Third and Federal Circuits.
Richard has significant courtroom experience. In district court, he has examined witnesses and argued key issues, including claim construction and dispositive motions, achieving favorable outcomes for his clients. He has successfully defeated IPR challenges before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and has argued multiple cases before the Federal Circuit.
He has an expansive technical background, with both a B.S and M.S. in computer science and five years as an engineer developing technology for military radar. He has obtained significant experience in a variety of technologies, including computer software and hardware, streaming, semiconductor, and mechanical products. In law school, he was executive articles editor for the NYU Annual Survey of American Law.
