Joseph Mercadante is an experienced patent litigator with a focus on cases in the field of electronics, including computer hardware and software, automotive technologies, telecommunications and networking, and semiconductors. Joseph has litigated patent disputes in courts across the nation, including the Eastern District of Texas, the Northern and Central Districts of California, the District of Delaware, the District of New Jersey, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of Virginia, as well as in the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
He represents clients in all aspects of patent litigation including pre-suit investigations, validity and infringement analyses, Markman proceedings, expert reports and depositions, all forms of motion practice, and trial. Joseph also regularly counsels clients regarding the acquisition of intellectual property.
Joseph served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Garrett E. Brown. Jr. (Ret.) of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and has significant technical experience including a background in electrical engineering.
