Vision
The founders of FRL left Big Law to create a law firm for clients who want the highest quality legal talent on fair and affordable terms. No party with a valuable case should accept lesser representation due to financial restraints.
Our partners have over a century of combined experience litigating hard-won cases against the biggest names in smartphones, semiconductors, automobiles, LED lighting, GPS services, medical devices, and more. At FRL, they are supported by a diverse group of highly trained litigators, most of whom have technology degrees and backgrounds.
It is our mission to provide the absolute best legal services in the most challenging cases. We devote whatever resources are necessary to bring about the successful resolution of our matters.
How We Work
FRL’s advocacy is uncompromised in every sense. We have abandoned the traditional hourly billing model so that we can expend all the time, effort, and resources to win our cases, without concern that our billings will exceed client budgets. Instead, we design creative fee agreements to address each client’s unique needs.
In addition, over nearly 20 years, we have built relationships with litigation finance firms that will pay all or part of our attorneys’ fees. They provide this funding on a non-recourse basis—that is, if we don’t recover anything, clients have no financial obligation. Litigation finance removes a conflict of interest that can arise between firms and their clients in typical contingency arrangements. In such cases, as law firms expend resources in extensive discovery and pre-trial proceedings, law firms may push the clients toward settlements below their reasonable expectations at the outset.

This includes funding for defendants, whose ultimate fee is based not only on the result obtained but also the timing of the successful result.
